# Analytics dashboards

> A descriptive view of your supporter base — where income comes from, who your donors are, and how to keep them

The analytics dashboards answer questions about your file that you'd otherwise need an analyst, a spreadsheet and a quiet afternoon to figure out. They are **descriptive**: they summarise your real history — no models, scores or predictions. (For forward-looking scoring, see [What Allyy can predict](/models/what-allyy-can-predict).)

<Note>
  Every figure is unioned across **all** your giving — one-off gifts, mailing responses and recurring-gift payments — so totals reflect every channel, not a single table.
</Note>

## The four themes

The dashboards are grouped by the question they answer:

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Data health" icon="heart-pulse" href="/analytics/data-health">
    Can I trust the data? Is the file healthy and growing?
  </Card>

  <Card title="Where income comes from" icon="coins" href="/analytics/income">
    What drives our income — which donors, campaigns, seasons and gift sizes?
  </Card>

  <Card title="My donor base" icon="users" href="/analytics/donor-base">
    Who are our donors, how do they move between segments, and are we over-contacting them?
  </Card>

  <Card title="Growing & keeping value" icon="seedling" href="/analytics/value">
    How do we grow regular giving, retain value, and win back lapsed donors?
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## How to read any dashboard

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="KPIs" icon="gauge">
    Headline numbers at the top — the one-glance summary.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Charts & tables" icon="chart-column">
    The detail behind the headlines, often filterable by year or channel.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Callouts" icon="lightbulb">
    Plain-language notes that flag what's notable and, often, what to do about it.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Donor tiers used throughout

| Tier              | Meaning                                                                     |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Major** | Annual giving at or above your major-donor threshold. |
| **Middle** | The upper band of single-gift donors, below major. |
| **Standard** | Single-gift donors below the upper band. |
| **Regular giver** | On a recurring direct debit / standing order (a cadence, not a value tier). |

<Tip>
  New to the dashboards? Start with **Data health → Overview** to sanity-check the file, then **Where income comes from** to see what's driving results.
